What Makes a Real Estate Franchise Successful?

A NextHome Franchise Story

With so many real estate franchise opportunities, what makes a company stand out? Is it the technology, the branding, the support? It’s easy to think of various things that would make for an ideal real estate franchise, and it’s different for every person. To learn more about a company that’s doing things right, we asked NextHome’s Vice President of Sales Charis Moreno what makes their franchise different. Read on to learn more!

When you take a new real estate franchise from zero offices to over 400+ in less than five years the number one question we get is, “How do you do it?”

This is probably one of my favorite questions because it allows me to tell the story of NextHome. With every great story, there is always a hero, and in our story, the hero is more than one individual. In this story, it is a collective group of "NextHomies" that make up the heart and soul of our company that together share one vision of raising the bar in an industry that has given more value to the size of one’s company rather than the quality. NextHome is proving that choosing quality over quantity of agents will have a much more meaningful story to tell and allows for you to focus on the people and not so much how you are going to make your overhead payments.

The growth we have experienced can also be attributed to our flexible model and who our target customer is. We specifically target small to midsize offices and agent teams. Prior to NextHome, there really was not an option for this demographic which happens to make up more than 80% of the industry. The flexibility in our fee structure, the all-inclusive and completely automated and integrated back office, and the consumer-first marketing and branding allow us to pave the way for so many who felt franchising was out of reach.

Independent brokers want to feel part of a network of people to collaborate and share with but also need to feel that independence, and NextHome provides that. As a business owner, you should be able to choose if you want to grow, stay small, be virtual, or invest in a space, and this is a huge factor for our owners when they start their journey with us. Having this flexibility takes most of the stress away so they can focus on the things that matter most… their people. Our Humans over Houses approach to business is what makes NextHome’s retention rate so high. When our people are hurting or struggling the entire company feels it, and we let them know they are not alone by sending a card or flowers. We love celebrating with our members in the good times as well.

The combination of all these things has allowed NextHome to achieve some pretty awesome awards like being ranked No. 1 in owner satisfaction in the real estate category and No. 3 overall for 2020 by Franchise Business Review. Our franchise also ranked on the Inc. 5000 list of most profitable independent companies, as well as on the Franchise 500® list by Entrepreneur Magazine. As such a young company, these are exciting achievements and the crazy part is we have only just begun our journey.
